Union Square Chapter Luncheons

SLF has created a space — called the “Union Square Chapter Luncheon” [USCL] — for Local Businesses to connect, network, and discuss issues happening in Somerville that will impact local businesses — all while enjoying some good food together during your lunch break.

Luncheons are scheduled monthly and are free to all attendees. All Luncheons are self-sustained through donations to SLF and facilitated by host members. Come take your lunch break with your peers and local community members. Info for the upcoming luncheon will always be posted on this page, directly below this message.

We will get together for our last Luncheon of 2012!

After hearing rave reviews about one of our newest neighbors, Counter Culture will be our host this month. So many Union Square Businesses regularly attend but this time we want everyone to join us and help make Local Business Owners stronger than ever!

If you know someone who works at a locally owned business in Union Square, please invite them.

Lunch and all other offerings are Free to all attendees and we convene for about 15mins. After 15mins you can head back to work or if you like, we will have fellow Union Square Business owner, Clara Angelina Diaz of Clara-fying, do a workshop for the group. All you have to do is come. Union Square Chapter Luncheon: October Details

October’s luncheon will be hosted by Bloc 11. Come get a treat for Halloween. With the same format usual, we will meet for 15 mins. Just enough time to grab a plate, shake a hand, tell others what’s going on with you and your business, and head back to work. For those who can stay afterwards, we have set up an informational workshop for you with Derek O’Connor from Eastern Bank.

Food, networking, and info, all in the same time it takes to have a cigarette break (Not encouraging smoking). As always, we look forward to seeing ALL of our great Union Square Local business owners!

September Luncheon Details

The September Luncheon will be hosted by Corpbasics. Get ready for Fall Fitness. Personal trainers at Corpbasics will provide a short workshop for attendees and give complimetary access to their expertise. To help create a workshop to your liking, please email [email protected] with any questions or thoughts you’ve ever had about fitness so Corpbasics staff can better prepare.

August Union Square Chapter Luncheon Update

Hi everyone! Just a quick update about tomorrow’s luncheon. In addition to all the fun planned, we will also take a quick moment to address some upcoming business items. As you may already know, the city has created a revitalization plan for Union Square in conjunction with the new T station planned for Prospect Street. The arrival of the Green Line is exciting news, but you may be wondering what impact it might have on your business. Because we know many of you may have questions about the plan (more info and link to plan can be found here), we have arranged for George Proakis, Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, to attend tomorrow’s Union Square Chapter Lunch. He will talk about the plan and answer any questions you may have. If you cannot attend the lunch but have concerns you would like us to bring up, please contact me at [email protected] or (617) 684-5581.
The lunch is being held at the Fringe Building, Olive Square, at 11 am on 8/29.

August’s Union Square Chapter Luncheon [USCL] Details

We’re getting really excited for our monthly gathering in Union Square. August’s lunch details are as follows:
Date - Wednesday, August 29
Time - 11:00 am
Location - 9 Olive Sq. Somerville MA

Details:
Your dog is invited to the luncheon. Peter and Pricilla with Riverdog and Renee and Mandy with TwoMamas Photography, are extending this month’s Luncheon invitation to your pets. If you are a dog owner, please bring them along. There will be water, shade, and treats provided by Riverdog, and TwoMamas will take a complimentary shot of you and your beloved pet. This month we will have food provided by Union Square’s own Machu Picchu.

Please email Ronald Leaks to confirm that you can come, indicating also if you will bring your dog so we can have things set up.
